It's about time some one got it right, removing ego and personal prejudices from the process. Too many groups belong and have been ignored...looking forward to seeing you get it right (as usual).

Amazing Tony Bennet. Did you see that Tony Bennett documentary The Zen of Bennett is headed to Netflix? Any idea when this will be out? The film uses footage from 150 hours of recordings made during the studio sessions of "Duets II" with Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble... Independently, Tony Bennett is bringing his heart back to San Francisco on Valentine's Day to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". He recorded it for the first time 50 years ago this week. Can you imagine? Get it straight from Amazon ... http://goo.gl/dR34D

I guess that I watched The Vers perform around 10-12 times, from Boscobel to Stitzer to Madison, and all points in between. When you went to see them, you weren't just going out to see another band. You were going to see a FREAKN' ROCK AND ROLL SHOW, with some new wave and punk around the edges. I remember a couple of times when Mondo was running through the crowd in the trench coat and stuck the mic in my face to repeat the classic line "Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll". What a riot and the memory still brings a smile to my face.
I was saddened to read of Mondo's passing and now of Jimmy's passing.
This band brought me so much enjoyment when I was in my twenties. Now I'm pushing fifty but I'm still trying to live my life like, "I'm never gonna be that old".

Dear Jim,
I'm sorry to bother you but I'm trying to research some famous autographs I have of some singers of the 1950's. I have a program of the production of "the Shine of Stars" put on by the VFW in San Antonio, Texas. I attended this event as a young girl and got all the autographs of the proformers except the conductor. I am interested in the posiblity of selling the complete program. If you could help me at all I will furnish you with the full list of autograhps. Thank you, Melba

I am only now discovering the drama of Phil's trial and also saw the BBC documentary recently. Since seeing it I have tried to do some research and am completely stumped as to how Phil could have been found guilty "beyond reasonable doubt" based on only a dubious reputation and one statement by an employee.

It scares the hell out of me that someone can be put away with such scanty evidence and despite so much forensic evidence to the contrary.

It is refreshing to see at least one place online where he is supported but I am also shocked there there seem to be so few probing discussions about the verdict.

I like God, beer, and crazy people. I love Jim Bessman. He's written a lot of good things about artists who needed and deserved his attention. I hate hearing he wasn't at the CMA Awards. We gotta do something so that doens't happen again.
